Our CEO, Nick Bateman, will assume a keynote speaker slot at this year’s FPC Futures event taking place at The Lincolnshire Showground on 4th November.
With the theme “The challenge for vertical farming to play a full role in UK agriculture by 2040”, Nick’s session looks at alternative farming approaches and how farming needs to adapt to future environmental challenges.
A big believer that a ‘one solution fits all’ approach isn’t going to work, Nick will look at what are the real challenges and opportunities for vertical farming,; what are the innovations needed and how does it need to adapt to its long term role by 2040.
The FPC Futures event is free to attend and is aimed at all those involved in the fresh produce industry.
With eight conference streams on the day, topics will cover everything from robotics and automation to data driven technologies; from sustainability to protected cropping and from supply chain waste to carbon supply chains.
Nigel Jenney, CEO at FPC commented: “The UK Horticultural industry is a sector hungry to fast track agritech adoption. The sector is rapidly evolving therefore it’s a great opportunity for suppliers to showcase their world-leading innovations to a diverse and progressive industry. We are delighted that Nick is joining us and look forward to hearing his thoughts and vision for this sector which is growing and evolving at pace.”
